Some of the highlights: the legendary sword of Godefroy de Bouillon (all the way from Jerusalem!), the part about Belgians on Antarctica, the old books / church art pieces, the opera room, the part about Charlemagne...
Several things made me pretty sad though. Even though this exhibit has many many rich sponsors they could NOT pay for:
- decent information signs
- some-one to clean the glass / exhibit rooms
- a decent floor in the art part (it was extremely creaky and it's not an old building)
- decent lighting of most objects
- decent design for all the rooms (some where just a mockery compared to others)
All in all it was a pretty fun visit even though we did not learn much, well, one thing: 80% of all billiard balls are made in Belgium and are sometimes referred to as Belgian balls..
LOL ... Belgian balls ... :-)
ReplyDeleteSo if a guy says: you want to play with my Belgian balls he is just asking you if you want to play a game of billiard ;-)
