Everyday Utopias (Brussel, 22-9-2007)

Rating:★★★★★
Category:Other
This exhibit has already ended but it's worthwhile to check out some of the artists or at least remember their names so you can maybe check them in future exhibits.

Everyday Utopias was about young Spanish art and it was exciting, hilariously funny, beautiful, reflective, provocative even. This collection of contemporary Spanish art has gradually been put together from acquisitions made during the five editions of the "Biennal d’Art Leandre Cristòfol", which has been celebrated in the city of Lleida since 1997.

Some names&works to remember:
- Alicia Framis (a stand-still strike against cruelty against females, see pic))
- Concha Prada (pictures of falling milk)
- Carles Congost (his video "Un mystique determinado" was brilliantly funny!)
- David Bestué / Marc Vives (video of surrealistic everyday situations at home)
- Ana Laura Aláez (glamorous and weird)
