Miss Kittin & The Hacker & The Neon Judgement (AB, Brussels, 28-4-2009)

Rating:★★★★★
Category:Other

Ok not very surprising or new but a very enjoyable show! If you are into electro it's great to see them live. No one can play with buttons on stage like Miss Kittin or The Hacker ;-)

And the fact that New Wave classics The Neon Judgement also played some songs including the new single made it a perfect night ;-)

The interior is very cool and very Chinese by the way ;-)

MUDAM (Luxembourg, 22-3-2009)

Brilliant Modern Art Museum even though it's not very big they still manage to have great exhibits.

If you are interested in (post)-modern art you should definitely check out this museum one time. The museum itself is also very modern and has a very relaxed atmosphere. There is a great permanent work on display by Wim Delvoye (a Gothic inspired chapel) which is almost worth the trip!

There is a shop with interesting art books and you can get nice food here too!

Cuisine: Irish
Location:Bisserwee 9, Luxembourg-city

Cosy Irish pub on a beautiful location, perfect for watching the final day of six Nations rugby (especially since Ireland won the grand slam \o/).

Food is quite good but not very Irish. Not much Irish beer either but at least the Luxemburg-beer is good too ;-)

Natur Musée (Luxembourg-city, 21-3-2009)

Natural History museums are the best and I'm glad I get to see so many all over Europe ;-)
Luxembourg may be a very small country but their natural history museum is still pretty big. Loads of nice things to be seen!

At the moment there is a special exhibit about molluscs. There are loads of beautiful shells and even some live ones!
More pictures: here

There is also a restaurant with great cheese sandwiches and other fresh, local foods.

Musée d'Histoire de la Ville de Luxembourg (21-3-2009)

Another great museum in Luxembourg telling the story of the city and it's residents. Very interesting information on both and in three languages (German, French, English)!

At the moment there is a brilliant special exhibit called "Glaubenssache" (matters of faith). This is actually an exhibit from Switzerland but it also tells something about faiths in Luxembourg. The exhibit is interactive and very exciting!

Most interesting are all the personal stories of different people with different religions about what it means to them in every day live. They tell about how and why they pray or about special rituals they do every day.
This exhibit is still on un till 7-6-2009.

Indian and Nepali food. One of the best in Luxembourg it seems and it's indeed pretty good. But we've eaten better Indian and Nepali food already so only 4 stars from us ;-)

Maison des Brasseurs

Cuisine: Other
Location:Luxembourg-city, 48, Grand Rue

We were here for a beer (obvious choice I guess if you know that brasseur is French for brewer) but there is a whole menu with Luxembourg specialities here which all sound interesting.

It's a very cosy and quaint place where the locals come and drink a beer or eat something. The Luxembourg-beer is pretty good by the way ;-)

MNHA (Luxembourg, 20-3-2009)

This is the museums of museums! This museum includes Prehistory, Protohistory, Gallo-Roman period, Middle Ages, Ancient Art, Modern Art and a whole part with Decorative Arts. The only thing missing is natural history but there is another museum for that close by ;-)

But it's not only an extremely diverse and interesting collecting the museum itself is also very special. The lower parts (prehistory and protohistory) are actually cut out in the rocks. It's pretty cool (literally also actually) to be surrounded by windows looking out on a rock face while being inside a museum.

The rest of the museum is extremely modern but there is also a beautiful medieval winding staircase in stone.
The decorative arts part has fully decorated rooms (see pic) which have recently been updated. They are all very beautiful including loads of sturdy looking wooden furniture, large clocks and other interesting objects.

If you are ever in Luxembourg city be sure not to miss this museum!
