Crusades / Kruistochten Catharijneconvent Utrecht (29-12-2005)

The Catharijneconvent is an old monastery and is now used as a religious museum. It has always been one of my favorites because it has some very interesting objects. Next year it will be closed for a while to make the exhibition rooms up to date again so this expo about the Crusades is the last for now.

Ofcourse I know quite a lot about the crusades already but there's always something new and interesting to see and learn about those days. And I'm happy to say that I did learn some new things ;-)
And we've also seen some pretty objects and heard some nice music from that time.

Hopefully next year will bring another nice exhibit so we have a reason to visit the museum again ;-) Oh, and the museum has a nice shop too!
Check their site (Dutch!) for info: www.catharijneconvent.nl

  1. Wow, looks very interesting.
    Unfortunately, I've missed this one.
Petty, because I also like the subject very much (Crusades)

  2. The medical tools of the muslims at that time are impressive, and they had a lot of them in the museum!

  3. Yes, the muslims had a lot of knowledge and science.
And they were a lot more tolerant then the crusaders.
At least the Knights Templar had learned something over there...
