Where to eat in Edinburgh?

There are many great places to eat or have a snack in Edinburgh. We didn't try the more expensive ones like "The Witchery by the Castle" but the more affordable ones were pretty good too!

The Scottish Cafe and Restaurant
A great place to try a local beer with some local cheese (I loved the Dunedin Cheese Board!) underneath the National Gallery Complex with a view of the Scott Memorial.

Delhi Diner
Terrific Indian and Bengali restaurant almost next to our B&B (Barony House). It's a pity they don't deliver in Belgium ;-)

Benugo
Inside Edinburgh Castle, great place to eat some traditional cakes and dinner dishes.

Good Year
Well, we have to try some Scottish Chinese food, don't we? Pretty good with some interesting differences from our Chinese restaurants.

Bierex
A nice pub with some pretty good pub food and a very eclectic choice of music. Very enjoyable!

Where to sleep in Edinburgh?

There are many nice bed&breakfasts in Edinburgh and for our stay we picked two:

Barony House
A very good and nicely decorated B&B! They have no problem with late arrivals if you let them know beforehand, there is a bus-stop almost in front of it, there are nice restaurants and pubs close by, the room is very comfortable, the breakfast is terrific (so much choice!) and it isn't expensive either.
And the best thing: you get fresh Scottish cookies and a liqueur in your room every day!

Aonach Mor Guest House
An equally nice B&B with great breakfast options (we have to go back to try them all haha). Also very close to a bus-stop, restaurants and pubs. Just a bit closer to Arthur's Seat which we could see from our attic window :-)

Saint Giles Cathedral

Edinburgh, March 2011, a cosy cathedral :-)
