A nice shop to visit in Berlin: Whisky & Cigars

Rating:★★★★★
Category:Other

Well the title says it all: this is a shop for whisky and cigars (and cognac and rum too according to the pic).

It's a really cool shop owned by women who like to smoke and drink and play chess. If you want to know more about it just check their site: http://www.whisky-cigars.de/
It is in German so you'll need to able to read that language to really get the idea but the site is still nice.

Berlin Museum Objects

Just a few objects that stood out.

Things to do in Berlin: museums

Some of the museums we've visited this time:

Museum für Naturkunde
One of the oldest natural history collections in the world. The building itself is not as impressive as the Natural history in London but it's still quite nice.
Don't miss the famous Archeopteryx and the impressive climate-controlled storage room for their collection of prepared animals.
Btw: you are allowed to take pictures but you cannot publish them, even on-line, without their permission!

Neue Nationalgalerie
Always a good place to see some modern art and interesting exhibitions.
The building by Mies van der Rohe is itself a must see if you are interested in modernism and/or architecture.

DDR Museum
A small museum but very interesting for those who want to see what life was like in the DDR. You can see and touch loads of products, sit in a real trabant, watch tv-series and hear the hit-music.

Neues Museum
Recently renovated museum with Egyptian, Prehistory, Early History and Classical objects. This is where you can see the famous Nefertete bust and a lot of other beautiful old stuff ;-)

Alte Nationalgalerie
A temple for 19th century German painting. If this is your era this is a must-see museum. Impressive paintings!

Altes Museum
It looks gigantic but actually the museum itself isn't that big. At the moment it houses a collection of classical objects (mostly Greek and Roman).

Pergamonmuseum
If you want to see something gigantic this is the museum to be. Inside are life-size parts of temples, gates and palaces. Most famous and beautiful is the Ishtar Gate from Babylon (6th century BC).

Museen Dahlem
One of my favourite Ethnological museum-complexes. Many, many objects and interesting exhibits
