Delvaux and Antiquity (KMSKB, 23-1-2010)

Rating:★★★★
Category:Other
Delvaux is one of my favourite Belgian painters so of course I wanted to see this exhibit. It's a great privilege to be able to see so many of his works :-)

This specific exhibit shows some great examples of his art even some I haven't seen before.
It's a pity though that the exhibit itself isn't that good: the room is too small and feels rather stuffed. It's a pity that lately they don't seem to make much of an effort at making their exhibits in the KMSKB. We only seem to be paying for the chance to see the artworks themselves which in this case is worth it only if you really like Delvaux.

If you want to see and learn a lot about science this is the place to be. It's very diverse and there is information for all levels of education to enjoy. Best thing about this museum is that it doesn't aim at cheap effects like most science museums.

The part I love most is of course the "room of wonders" with all the natural treasures (see pics). Another great thing is their small but beautiful botanic garden. The exhibits are nice too so check it out: http://www.uu.nl/NL/universiteitsmuseum/Pages/default.aspx
