Is all cruelty worth saying? (La Centrale Electrique, Brussel, 14-3-2009)

Rating:★★★★
Category:Other

A really interesting exhibit especially if you are Belgian. To really understand the works you do need some knowledge of Belgian history and politics.

A lot of the works are visually interesting too but most do need some more knowledge to enjoy and understand them. If you do not recognize politicians, cannot read the French or Dutch texts you are missing a lot of the fun!
So I recommend visiting it with some-one who has lived in Belgium long enough ;-)

Dekadence in the Bohemian Lands 1880-1914 (Brussel, 14-3-2009)

I guess the title says almost all. I can only specify that it's about artworks from what is now the Czech Republic...

As a lover of decadence and the art of this period this is of course a must see exhibit. And I was right because it's a great one!

It is actually a double exhibit: one part in Brussels, one in Namur. We still have to check out the part in Namur. The one in Brussels has many many beautiful works of art!

Extra City (gallery, Antwerp, 8-3-2009)

Rating:★★★★★

A cool gallery / art centre on the fringes of the inner city of Antwerp. The walk there is well worth it because it takes you through streets with many nationalities, little shops and other interesting sights.

The exhibits are also pretty exciting so check it out some time: http://www.extracity.org/index_kunstennoord_en.php

Brüsel?

Is this art or another reality seeping through? Is this Brüsel and not Brussels? Or is there no real difference?
